Easy Homemade Hot Cocoa Ornaments

Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year. The lights. The merriment. The gathering of friends and family. But I think it’s safe to say that the rush of the season, the never-ending to-do list, can often feel a bit overwhelming. This is a super easy and super adorable DIY Christmas craft that will double up as a great teacher, co-worker, or neighbor appreciation gift. Skip going to the store for a thank-you present and make these homemade hot cocoa ornaments instead!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Clear Plastic Crafting Ornaments (or other clear containers with lids would work)
  • 1 c. Cocoa Powder
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Traditional Christmas Sprinkle Mix

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In order to make the hot cocoa mix, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar and salt.
  • Pour 3 tbsp of hot cocoa mix into the bottom of the plastic ornament.
  • Top hot cocoa mix with a layer of mini marshmallows.
  • Top marshmallows with sprinkles.
  • Close ornaments.
