Spring has officially sprung. Tulips are popping up each day and soon butterflies will be fluttering from flower to flower. To celebrate spring’s much-awaited arrival we have an adorable chocolate-covered pretzel “Butterfly” tutorial. A few simple ingredients, our “Social Butterfly” sprinkle mix, and some parchment paper are all you’re gonna need for these adorable no-bake treats! This would make a fun weekend kid-friendly kitchen activity.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Pretzel sticks
- White chocolate or colored candy melts
- Gel food colors (if using white chocolate)
- Spring sprinkles
Let’s get started:
Step 1: Melt the white chocolate in 4 microwave-safe bowls in 30-second intervals. Stir between each interval until fully melted and smooth.
Mix a drop of food color into each bowl and mix until fully combined. Skip this step if you are using colored candy melts.
Step 2: Dip one pretzel into the chocolate (whatever color you please) so that it is fully covered and gently tap it on the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Place it on the parchment paper. This will be one butterfly wing.
Repeat the previous step for the second butterfly wing. You can use the same color or a different color. Get creative!
Step 3: Dip a pretzel rod into the chocolate, fully coating it, and gently tapping it against the bowl edge to remove excess chocolate.
Arrange the chocolate-covered pretzel on the parchment paper in a butterfly position (see above.) Make sure they are all touching so the chocolate adheres together and holds the butterfly shape.
Sprinkle with fun colorful spring sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
Repeat this process for however many butterflies you desire to make or whenever the supplies run out. Enjoy!
We would absolutely love to see your spring butterfly pretzels.
